How to choose your car supplier in North America?
Every year we hear horrifying stories from overseas buyers who paid for a car, or even several cars, and never received delivery of the vehicle(s). They discover the hard way that the "nice" exporter with super deals was a fly by night operation and is now nowhere to be found. There are some easy steps to avoid that:
- Choosing a supplier
You want to have a reliable, responsible, experienced partner and be sure you always get the vehicle you ordered. Make sure he doesn't sell cars as well to your customers. Contact NAATA or AASA to check up on your supplier. Is your supplier an AASA and NAATA member? If your supplier is not a member of the organizations and cannot get a positive reference from the organizations, be careful. - Security
Try to take whatever steps you can to prevent your vehicle from being reported as being exported to the manufacturer. Participation in the AASA VIN confidentiality program can help with keeping your exports confidential.
